Botanic Attack (also known as Sosha)
You might have seen her work at our studio (we’ve been lucky enough to showcase her work for the last 2 years!)
Here’s a little about Sosha:
“My name is Sosha and I’m the face behind Botanic Attack! I started making insect art and oddities for fun in 2022 and created Botanic Attack at the beginning of 2023. Before making insect art, I studied fine art and graphic design at the University of Wyoming. I mostly took oil painting and drawing classes, and steered away from any 3D art classes. I never expected to fall in love with the preservation of insects and flowers through the creation of “dead” terrariums and vintage frames.
My art focuses on preserving and respecting the life that once was by creating colorful scenes made up of dried flowers and crystals. I used sustainably sourced specimens in all of my art.
While I started with preserved insect terrariums, I soon expanded my shop to butterfly wing earwings and necklaces, resin trays with real butterflies, and wax sealed oddity jars. I look forward to expanding even further as I learn more about insect preservation!“
